THOMSON, Ga. - Mr. Marvin Edward Purvis, 75, of Thomson, entered into rest November 12, 2005 at his residence.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Henderson Purvis, Thomson; brothers, Randy Purvis, Wrens, Wallace Purvis, Dearing; sisters, Irene Emmert, Ft. Myers, Fla., Diane Reese, Thomson, Polly Kent, Thomson; uncle, Malcolm Purvis, Avis, Pa.; numerous nieces and nephews.
Mr. Purvis was born in Warren County but lived in Thomson for the past 47 years. He was the son of the late Arthur Purvis and the late Lodella Hobbs Purvis. Mr. Purvis was retired from Miliken Mills as a loom technician after 40 years of service, was a member of Reedy Creek Baptist Church and the Woodmen of the World.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, November 15, 2005 at Reedy Creek Baptist Church with Rev. Kenneth Jones officiating.
Pallbearers were nephews.
Interment followed in the church cemetery.
