DEARING, Ga. - Mrs. Barbara C. Reed, 72, wife of Mr. Thelbert Marvin Reed, entered into rest Wednesday, November 12, 2008, at her residence.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, November 15, 2008, at Powell Baptist Church with the Reverend Randall Whitaker officiating. Interment was in South Harlem Memorial Gardens.
Mrs. Reed was born in Columbia, S.C., to the late William Taft and Mary Strickland. She was a homemaker.
Survivors include her husband of 40 years, Thelbert M. Reed; three sons, Georgia Cook (Donna), Dearing; Joseph "Joey" Reed (Cindy), Harlem, Thelbert ‘Thelby Reed (Faith), Dearing; four daughters, Linda Fogle (Johnny), Ridgeway, S.C., Sharon Jones. Barbara Clayborne and Catarina Reed, all of Dearing; Special friends, Don and Eilene McDowell, Tennille; and 17 grandchildren and 31 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Chris Abbott, Jamie Price, Michael Powell, Matthew Wiseman, Michael Walden, Jason Cook and Shane Rippe.
Starling Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
