The Thomson High Bulldogs are among one of the three teams from Region 3-AAA still alive in the state playoffs. Thomson defeated the previously unbeaten Jackson Red Devils 28-14 on their home turf last Saturday night to advance to the second-round of the playoffs this week.
Thomson will battle LaGrange at Callaway Stadium in LaGrange on Saturday night at 6 p.m.
"If we play like we did last Saturday against Jackson, I don't think we'll have a problem," said Thomson senior tight end Will Anderson.
Recently, Thomson Defensive Coordinator John Barnett asked the players: "How do ya'll want to be remembered after you graduate from Thomson High School?"
"I personally want to win a state championship," said Darius Eubanks. "We want to go down there Saturday and beat LaGrange."
Teammate Leroy Cummings, a sophomore offensive guard, said, "We've been playing our hearts out, because a lot of people doubted us. We got a lot of things to prove to ourselves and others before this season ends."
