AUGUSTA, Ga. - Doug Wells, 52, of Augusta, entered into rest on Wednesday evening, November 16, 2005 at University Hospital.
A native of Ft. Ord, Calif., he had been an Augusta resident for the past 40 years. Doug had been employed with the Richmond County Board of Education in the School Maintenance Department for the past 25 years. He had attended the First Assembly of God of Augusta.
Doug's family will cherish their times and enjoyment fishing together at Clarks Hill.
He is survived by his wife of 25 years, Wanda Wells; two daughters, Jennifer Malin, Jessica Wells, all of Augusta; father, Al Wells, Augusta; mother, Henrietta Rose Hannel Wells, Augusta; one brother, Raymond Lee Wells, Grovetown; three sisters, Linda Hair, Lake Toxaway, N.C., Diane Hatcher, Dearing, Cheryl Wells, Roanoke, Va.; six grandchildren, Olivia Rushbrook, Leah Rushbrook, Dylan Malin, Jadyn Wells, Waylon Wells, and Taryn Wells.
Funeral services were at 1 p.m., on Monday, November 21, 2005 from the Chapel of Elliott Sons Funeral Home, 2524 Lumpkin Road, with Dr. John Moore officiating. Interment will follow in Hillcrest Memorial Park. Pallbearers were Glen Salazar, Johnny Thompson, Robby Coleman, Mark Culbreath, Dwain Hadden and Richard Kersey. Honorary pallbearers were Bryant English and Barry Goff.
