DEARING, Ga. - Mrs. Jean Elizabeth Brooks Laney, 56, of Dearing, entered into rest Friday, November 18, 2005 at Eisenhower Medical Center.
She was the beloved wife of the late Mr. Kenneth W. Laney.
Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. Monday November 21, 2005 at Magnolia Baptist Church with Rev. Sonny Peevy officiating. Burial followed in the Magnolia Baptist Church cemetery.
Mrs. Laney was born in Glascock County. She was a homemaker, and had a tremendous love of gardening and her two beloved pets, Lady Amber and Patches. She was a member of Magnolia Baptist Church.
Survivors include a daughter Tammy (Jeff) Shelton, Thomson; grandson, Tyler Shelton; brothers, Jimmie S. Brooks, Beech Island SC and John A. Brooks, Jr. , Thomson; sisters, Dera H. Davis, Thomson, Sara L. Morrison, Lincolnton, Mary J. Connor, Hiawassee and Wanda L. Stoker, Warrenville, SC.
Mrs. Laney was preceded in death by her husband Kenneth W. Laney, and four brothers, Thomas Alvin Brooks, Max Lewis Brooks, John Willie Brooks, and Earl Dean Brooks.
Pallbearers were Benny Morrison, Randy Brooks, David Connor, Jeff Shelton, Preston Adams, Jason Brooks, Charles Montgomery, and Ricky Brooks. Tyler Shelton will be an honorary pallbearer.
Lowe Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
