Chamber Ca$h kicks off

At this weekend's festival, local residents will get a chance to win some of the $350 in CHAMBER CA$H which they can redeem at participating merchants for goods and services.

CHAMBER CA$H, a new program offered through the Thomson McDuffie County Chamber of Commerce, encourages local shopping while presenting a convenient way to purchase gift certificates that may be redeemed at local businesses.

"This will keep the money in McDuffie County," said Chamber of Commerce Director Carolyn Gilbert.

The program will work like this: People will buy CHAMBER CA$H certificates at the Chamber of Commerce office to give as gifts. The recipients may use the gift certificates just like cash at any participating business. The certificates could even be used to pay bills.
