Ban should be supported Letter to the Editor I'm writing in support of the proposed smoking ban in McDuffie County for restaurants. I've seen the damage that smoking can do to ones' health and quality of life. I have a family member in his early fifties who is on oxygen full time because of his smoking. I agree that people should be able to smoke if they choose to do so, but I don't think they should be able to smoke in public places where their habit can affect the health of others. I have allergies, and if I come in contact with smoke, I immediately stop up and cannot breathe. Many work places are smoke free, and I think restaurants in McDuffie County should be as well.
