THOMSON, Ga. - Mr. Archie "Walter" Rabun, 80, beloved husband of Mrs. Mary Rabun, died Friday, November 21, 2008, in the V. A. Medical Center.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Monday, November 24, in the Thomson Church of God, with Rev. Bobby Farmer and Dr. Don Widener officiating. Burial was in Westview Cemetery.
Mr. Rabun was a native of Jefferson County, but had lived in Thomson since 1956. He was a member of Thomson Church of God. He was an Army Veteran, and had worked for Clark & Schwebel.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Mary Rabun, Thomson; his daughter, Mrs. Melba (Danny) Dees, Thomson; his sons, Gary (Tabbie) Rabun, Thomson; Darrell Rabun, Thomson; his step-daughter, Diane (Bobby) Farmer; his step-sons, Robby (Julie) Powell, Thomson; Tim (Katrina) Powell, Thomson; 15 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Billy Dees, Christopher Rabun, Kyle Rabun, Dewayne Rabun, Jimmy Garthright, and Matt Garthright.
Curtis Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
