Mr. and Mrs. Clifford J. Starr, Jr. of Blakely, Ga., are pleased to announce the engagement and forthcoming marriage of their daughter, Lacey Denise Starr, to Emerson Grant Norman, son of Mr. Robert B. Norman of Lincolnton, and Ms. Catherine Lynn McNeill of North Augusta.
The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Mrs. Lois Barefield and the late Mr. William A. Barefield of Oakwood, Ga., and Mrs. Aline Starr and the late Mr. Clifford J. Starr, Sr. of Blakely.
A 1998 honor graduate of Early County High School, Miss Starr graduated with a Bachelor of Business Administration in Management from Mercer University in 2002. She then attended Mercer University Law School where she received a J.D. in 2005. After taking and passing the Georgia Bar, Lacey moved to Boston, Mass., where she attended Boston University for a year and graduated in May 2006 with a masters of law in tax. Miss Starr is currently working with KPMG, an accounting and consulting firm in Boston, working as a tax specialist in their State and Local Tax department.
The future groom is the grandson of the late Col. and Mrs. William A. Cauthen of Washington, and the late Mr. and Mrs. James A. Norman of Lincolnton.
A 1998 graduate of The Baylor School, a private boarding school in Chattanooga, Mr. Norman graduated with a Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance from Mercer University in 2002. He is a member of the Eta chapter of the Sigma Nu fraternity. Upon graduation, Grant moved to Boston, where he currently is employed as a senior budget analyst at MFS Investment Management. Grant is also attending Suffolk University and will graduate with a Masters of Science in Finance in 2007.
The wedding is planned for Saturday, March 31, 2007, at 6:30 p.m. at Westview United Methodist Church in Blakely, Ga.
