Medical company relocates to McDuffie

A Columbia County medical equipment sales, service and parts operation is moving to McDuffie County.

Medical Imaging Technologies recently acquired three acres in the West Thomson Industrial Park. The development authority approved the $27,000 transaction last month.

Forward McDuffie Director Don Powers said owner Rick Player of Winfield will move his corporate office with six employees to McDuffie County. If projections for company growth are met, Mr. Player hopes to double his workforce here.

MIT has been in business since 1987, providing imaging equipment and service solutions to health care providers with regional sales offices in Atlanta, Texas and Florida. Mr. Player said the new headquarters office will be a field service center for engineer support and training as well as equipment refurbishing and staging. This location will house a parts depot for national sales and distribution. The company also offers rental and lease programs for mobile and fixed location CT and MRI devices.
