THOMSON, Ga. - Funeral service for Mr. Johnnie Bell Battle, 94, of Thomson, were held on Saturday, December 2, 2006, at 2 p.m. at the Mt. Moriah Baptist Church, Warrenton, Rev. Dr. Johnny L. Hampton, Sr., officiating. Interment was in the Union Star Society Cemetery.
Survivors include three daughters, Dollie M. Ford (J.D.), Cleveland OH, Mamie P. Flemings (Frank), Detroit, MI, Annie R. Mims, Decatur; four sons, Eddie L. Battle, George W. Battle (Hazel), all of Thomson, David Battle (Lois), Nacogdocher, TX, and James E. Battle, Decatur; two sisters, Mattie Bradley, Detroit, MI and Elizabeth Mays, New York, NY; 47 grandchildren, 63 great grandchildren, and eight great-great grandchildren, a host of other relatives and friends.
Thomson Funeral System was in charge of arrangements.
