Thomson Junior Women's Club helps make local Festival bright

The ladies of Thomson Junior Women's Club were very busy giving both time and effort to help donate to the community during this weekend's Festivities. On Friday night, the club sold boiled peanuts and hot chocolate to raise money for needy families during the Holiday Season. The peanuts, which were very tasty, were donated by two family farms in Jefferson County, so all proceeds went straight into the community. The hot chocolate was much needed warmth downtown on a chilly Friday night for all that came down to support the Christmas Tree Lighting.

On Saturday, several members had to rise and shine to help out at "Breakfast with Santa" at the Depot. The breakfast was filled with lots of anxious little children that got to spend some quality time with Santa. And last but not least, we must not fail to mention that Thomson Junior Women's Club supplied the wonderful Elves that helped Santa and Ms. Claus out on both Friday and Saturday nights.

As members of Thomson Junior Women's Club, we are so thrilled to have been given the opportunity to take part in the "Festival Off Main." We all had a wonderful time and enjoyed working with everyone involved. The TJWC would like to thank all of the community that gave of time, effort or monetary donations that helped us to give back to the needy families of McDuffie County!
