GIBSON, Ga.- Mrs. Nora "Candy" Louise Johnston, 55, of Gibson, entered into rest December 4, 2004 at Eisenhower Army Medical Center. She was the beloved wife of the late Marvin T. Johnson, Sr. and the daughter of the late Chalmers Dewitt Usry and the late Louise Newsome Brooks.
Survivors include two sons, Martin Thomas Johnson, Jr. of Gibson, Tommy Malcolm Johnson (Roxanne) of Virginia Beach, Va.; one daughter, Anna Marie Kitchens (Chris) of Thomson; two sisters, Gail Newsome of Thomson, Faye Redfern of Dublin; two grandchildren, Brittany and Brianna Kitchens; one nephew, T.H. Haygood of Myrtle Beach, S.C.; mother and father-in-law, Florine and Ken Kurtz of Melbourne, Fla.
Mrs. Johnson was born in Augusta, but lived in Colorado before moving to Gibson twenty years ago. She was a homemaker and managed food service for many years. Mrs. Johnson was also a member of the Gibson Church of God.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, December 7, 2004 at the Beggs Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Richard Kitchens officiating. Interment followed in the Bethel United Methodist Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Lester Newsome, Jim Owens, Mike Lyons, Thomas Chalker, Julian Kitchens, Talmadge Chalker.
