THOMSON, Ga. - Mr. George F. Richards, 54, entered into rest December 3, 2007, at Trinity Hospice. He was the beloved husband of Connie Hobbs Richards.
Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. Wednesday, December 5, 2007, at the First Baptist Church with Dr. James Ramsey officiating. Interment followed in Westview Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Greg Ledger, Bobby Watkins, Greg Harden, Barry Callaway, Carroll Hughes, Ron Kelley, Chuck Moye and Pat Barmore.
Mr. Richards was a lifelong resident of McDuffie County and was the son of the late Claude Norman Richards, Sr., and the late Eleanor Gunby Richards. He was retired as an electrician. Mr. Richards was a member of First Baptist Church and a member of the Rocky Comfort Bow Hunters Club.
Survivors include his wife, Connie H. Richards, Thomson; son, Shane Richards and his wife Tamara, Statesboro; daughter, Leslie Richards, Statesboro; brothers, Claude Richards, Jr. and his wife Margie, Berkeley Springs, W. Va., John Richards and his wife Sue, Thomson.
Beggs Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
