WARRENTON, Ga. - This past weekend wasn't kind to the Lady Screaming Devils of Warren County High School, as they lost two games on the hardwood.
After falling to the visiting Washington-Wilkes Lady Tigers last Friday night, they attempted to rebound on Saturday night. They ended up losing 47-42 to the Jefferson County Lady Warriors, who now are 2-2 on the season. The Lady Screaming Devils, meanwhile, are now 0-2.
They will host the Greene County Lady Tigers on Friday night and travel to Thomson to play the Thomson High Lady Bulldogs on Saturday night of this week.
Warren County was led by sophomore sensation Candice Warthen, who led all scorers in the Jefferson County game with 24 points. She was the only player from her team in double-figures. Five other Lady Screaming Devils tallied points in that game. They included: Lashundra Reynolds, 5, Somorda Hordens, 5, Tynishia Harris, 4, Sondrea Hardin, 2 and Lakeria Williams, 2, respectively.
Jefferson County was led by Shakira Jackson with 14 and Lakeede Jackson, 11.
The Lady Warriors will be travel to Thomson on Friday night to take on the Lady Bulldogs in their second meeting against each other this season.
One of Warren County's problems against Jefferson County was of their own doings. The problem came at the bonus line, where they connected on only 9 of 24 free-throws.
Jefferson County didn't fair much better, hitting only 11 of 24 free-throws.
