THOMSON, Ga. - Mr. James Edward McClure, 68, husband of Mary Lou McClure of Jean Road, died Wednesday December 6, 2006 at his residence.
Funeral services were held 2 p.m. Friday December 8, 2006, in the Curtis Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Mike Sutphin officiating. Burial followed in the Westview cemetery.
A native of Smith Ferry, Pa., Mr. McClure had lived in Thomson for many years. He was a son of the late Amos Edward and Elma Pridemore McClure. He was a truck driver and retired from the City of Thomson after 10 years of service with the wastewater plant.
He is survived by wife, Mrs. Mary Lou Harker McClure of Thomson; daughter, Carol Lindsey of Dearing; two sons, John McClure of Dearing and Larry McClure of Thomson; two brothers, Joe McClure of Naples, Fla. and Raymond McClure of Wellsville, Ohio; sister, Clara May Fife of Boman, Ga.; three brothers-in-laws, Laurence Linkous of Wellsville, Ohio, Tom Bratt and Jim Kidder of East Liver Pool, Ohio, sister-in-law George-Anna McClure of Thomson; three grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.
Curtis Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
