Casket in parade was part of message
Letters to the editor

Dear Editor,
In the Dec. 7 edition of The McDuffie Mirror, Celeste Malden commented that doesn't like caskets as she discussed the Christmas parade.
I feel that she could not read the sign we had on the casket. I was trying to hit deep in the hearts of the people watching the parade to think twice about drinking and driving. I know that Christmas parades are suppose to be fun and festive, but so much you hear about people drinking, driving, and killing or maiming people from their stupidity. So as an individual, I take it on my own to spread the warnings about drinking and driving with my love for hearses.
