THOMSON, Ga. - Mr. H. Eugene "Gene" Nelson, Jr., age 68, beloved husband of Charlene Nelson, died Thursday, December 8, 2005, at his residence.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m., Saturday, December 10, 2005 in the Thomson First Baptist Church with Dr. Jim Ramsey officiating. Burial followed in the Westview Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Jimmy Poston, Tommy Tomlinson, Hoyt Lockee, Jack Sims, Dean Bales and Wilbur Holliman.
A native of Warren County, Mr. Nelson was the owner and operator of Nelson Insurance and was a member of Thomson First Baptist Church, the Thomson Boat Club, the Thomson Lions Club and the Franklin Masonic Lodge in Warrenton.
He is survived by his wife, Charlene Coats Nelson of Thomson; son, H. Eugene Nelson III of Thomson; daughter, Cheryl Nelson Deariso of Savannah; stepfather, Robert Hawkins of Thomson; two grandchildren, Ryan H. Nelson and Jenna Piper Nelson.
