Dear Editor,
I would like to thank the very nice lady who gave me $20 at the truck stop on I-20 recently.
I had left my purse at home in South Carolina on the way to Milledgeville to visit my brother. I had no money or credit card to buy gas and my "low fuel light" was on. I was in a panic, asking to borrow $10. In return, I told them I would give them a homemade pound cake I had made and mail the $10 back to them.
She gave me $20 and would not take the cake or let me pay her back. My family is so thankful, too. I consider her to be my Christmas Angel!! It made me think - if someone asks me for money, I'll give them more than they ask for.
I wish she could know how she helped a stranger who probably seemed a little crazy.
