Amy Nicole Hutchinson and Derrick Drew Birchfield exchanged vows on Sept. 11, 2004, at 2 p.m., at the Thomson Country Club. Rev. Ray Farmer officiated the double-ring ceremony.
The bride is the daughter of David and Kathi Hutchinson of Thomson and the groom is the son of Ann Birchfield of Dearing and Robert Birchfield of Florida.
The bride, given in marriage by her parents, was beautiful in a white, strapless, floor-length gown made of satin with a rhinestone trim at the top. Her veil was made of tulle (organza). She carried a bouquet which consisted of white roses.
Maid of Honor was Crystal Creech, best friend of the bride. She wore a lovely gown made of golden yellow satin, with a sheer wrap. Her bouquet was pink roses.
Bridesmaids were Pamela Irwin and April Tapley, cousins of the groom; and Ronda Goforth and Brandy Haywood, friends of the bride. The bridesmaids wore gowns and carried bouquets identical to those of the Maid of Honor.
Flower girl was Katrina (Mena) Garcia, friend of the bride. She wore a gown made of satin and tulle (organza), and carried a basket trimmed in tiny pink roses with white rose petals overflowing it.
The groom wore black pants, a golden vest and tie matching the bridesmaids dresses.
Best Man was Daniel Garcia, friend of the groom. Groomsmen were Ben Irwin, cousin of the groom, and Tyler Laster, friend of the groom. Ring Bearer was Nathaniel Irwin, cousin of the groom. They wore tuxedos identical to those of the groom.
A reception was held at the Thomson Country Club following the ceremony. After the reception the couple left for a honeymoon trip to the mountains. They are presently residing in Harlem.
