THOMSON, Ga. - Funeral service for Mr. Alton I. Shields, 62, of Thomson was held on Thursday, December 13, 2007, at 1 p.m. at the Stoney Grove C.M.E. Church, Warrenton, with the Rev. C. F. Gresham as eulogist. Interment was in the churchyard cemetery.
Survivors include one daughter, Chisa Shields, Thomson; one son, Gregory (Georgia) Heard, Augusta; two sisters, Patricia (Bernard) Smith and Yvonne Myers, both of Thomson; two brothers, Ronnie Carr, Thomson and Johnny (Linda) Carr, Evans; three aunts; numerous grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Thomson Funeral System was in charge of arrangements.
