The Thomson Junior Woman's Club just released their second edition of recipes, called Taste of Thomson. The hard-cover, spiral-bound book features 105 pages of recipes, helpful hints and colorful pictures.
Recipes are categorized as appetizers and beverages, soups and salads, vegetables and side dishes, main dishes, breads and rolls, desserts, cookies and candy, and miscellaneous.
Kittrell Reese, club treasurer, said the book has "been in the process for about two to three years." Recipes were collected from past and present club members. Mrs. Reese said the Thomson club presently has approximately 22 members.
"It was hard trying to get a lot of people together. As far as the publication, everybody got together on it, and everybody in the club really contributed time and hard work," Mrs. Reese said.
Mrs. Reese said the first edition, called Rainbow of Recipes, was published in the early 1980's, and was the inspiration for the new cookbook.
The book, published by Morris Press Cookbooks, costs $15. For more information, or to purchase a cookbook, call club presidents Candy Candler at 595-9958 or Leigh Smith at 595-2574.
