THOMSON, Ga. - Mr. E.L. 'Buddy' Hinton, 93, of Thomson, entered into rest December 18, 2005.
Mr. Hinton was born in Warren County but lived in McDuffie County most of his life. He was the son of the late Tom C. Hinton and the late Queen Thompson Hinton. Mr. Hinton was also a member of Sweetwater Baptist Church, the N.C. Cason Sunday School Class, former member of the Thomson Lions Club, member of Woodmen of the World for over 60 years and was named Mr. Woodman in 1954.
Survivors include a son, Lamar Hinton, Thomson; daughter and son-in-law, Shirley and Jim Jackson, Athens, Ga.; brother, Joseph Hinton, Augusta; sister, June Godwin, Clearwater, S.C.; five grandchildren, Vicki Jackson Price, Joseph Jackson, Jonathan Jackson, Tammy Hinton Reese and Tommy Hinton; 10 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m., Tuesday, December 20, 2005 at the Beggs Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Kenneth Garvin and Rev. Mike Sutphin officiating. Interment followed at Savannah Valley Memorial Gardens.
Beggs Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
