Thomson splits games on road at Elbert County

The Thomson varsity basketball squads traveled to Elbert County Friday evening. The boys came away with their second win against the Blue Devils this season, but the Lady Bulldogs fell for the second time to the Elbert County girls' team.

The Bulldogs overcame a 10-point deficit in the third quarter to pull away for a 75-70 win. Elbert County had three technical fouls called against them in the fourth quarter, and Thomson shot 25 free throws during that time to help in the win. Thomson goes to 5-2 on the season.

The Lady Bulldogs - who lost by 16 points to Elbert County in their season opener - fell to the Lady Blue Devils 63-45 Friday night. The 18-point loss takes the Thomson girls' team to 1-6 so far this year.
