Mr. Otis Rickerson, Retired - U.S. Army
AUGUSTA, Ga. - Mr. Otis Rickerson, 69, of Augusta, entered into rest on Tuesday afternoon, December 19, 2006 at Doctors Hospital.
A native of Augusta, Mr. Rickerson had retired in October of 1978 as an E-7, SFC, from the U.S. Army. After retirement, he enjoyed working in his yard, gardening and planting trees and various plants. He is preceded in death by his parents: Doc and Malvie Morris Rickerson, and one brother, Raymond Rickerson.
He is survived by: his wife of 30 years, Hee ye Rickerson; three sons, Inchol Chong and his wife, Kyung, Okla., South Lyon, Mich., Otis "Ricky" Rickerson, Jr. and his wife, Lisa Davis Rickerson, Grovetown, Stephen Rickerson, Thomson; two daughters, Elaine Steed and her husband Jim, Grovetown, Edie Johnson and her husband Billy, Grovetown; three brothers, two sisters; seven grandchildren, Casey Willis and her husband Chris, Todd Greene, Will Johnson, Clayton Rickerson, Walker Johnson, Cole Steed, Chris Rickerson; and 1 great-grandson, Tucker Willis.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. on Friday, December 22, 2006 from the graveside in Bellevue Memorial Gardens with Reverend Lloyd Greene, officiating. Full Military Honors were accorded by the Fort Gordon Ceremonial Detachment.
His grandsons served as Honorary Pallbearers.
