Mrs. Margaret B. Thompson
Retired Owner of Thompson's Restaurant

WARRENTON, Ga. - Mrs. Margaret B. Thompson, 79, beloved wife of the late Mr. Edgar E. (Pete) Thompson, Jr., died Saturday December 23, 2006 at the Warrenton Health and Rehabilitation Center.

Graveside funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, December 26, 2006, at the Johnson Cemetery.

Mrs. Thompson, a native of Beaufort, SC, was the daughter of the late James Leroy Sr. and Margaret McTeer Butler. She had been a resident of Warren County since the early 1950's where she and Mr. Thompson owned and operated Thompson's Restaurant. Mrs. Thompson was a direct descendant of Thomas Heyward, Jr. a signer of the Declaration of Independence. Mrs. Thompson was of the Episcopalian Faith. Her family wishes to express their sincere appreciation for the love and care she received during her stay at the Warrenton Health & Rehabilitation Center.

Survivors include: three daughters, Patricia A. Barksdale, Thomson, Barbara J. Epps Richmond, VA, and Margaret (Meg) Thompson-Webb, Grovetown, three sisters, Florence McDurmon, Jacksonville, NC, Carol Shirley, Beaufort, SC, and Ann Thompson, Windsor, Conn., one brother, James Leroy Butler, Jr. New Vienna, OH, and three grandchildren, Jason Barksdale, Thomson, Tommy Newsome, Thomson, and Kelly C. Epps, Richmond, Va. A daughter, Suzanne T. Newsome, preceded Mrs. Thompson in death.

Pallbearers were Palmer Hadden, Byron Webb, Bobby Newsome, Dan Wiseman, Billy Barksdale, and Jason Barksdale.
