Several Thomson players earned a place on the Georgia All-Area Team, as named by The Augusta Chronicle recently.
Senior offensive tackle Arcephus Jones - who returned to the Dogs after missing all of the 2004 season with a heat-related illness - made the first team offense.
Thomson placed two players on the second team offense: Junior running back LaBrandon Hudson, who amassed 1,185 yards and 21 touchdowns, and Senior offensive tackle Jason Jones.
Three Bulldogs made the All-Area Team's Second Team Defense, including Senior Kelcey Neal who collected 66 tackles and six sacks during the season. Senior Orlando Johnson - who also had strong offensive and return numbers - made 65 tackles and three interceptions. Kicker Clay Dent - a senior - also made the second team, averaging 37 yards per punt and hit 45 of 47 extra points.
Several Thomson players were named honorable mentions: HB/QB Anthony "Pooh" Erwin, RB Tim McCord, DT Laquez Sims and LB Montrell Walker.
