MARTINEZ, Ga. - Mr. Robert "Archie" New entered into rest Friday, December 19, 2008, in Thomson Manor Health Care Center.
Family members are one son, Robert "Bobby" Jardine and his wife, Mandy; three sisters, Betty Jo Gaddis, Barbara Ann Collins, Danville, Va., Yvonne D. King; three grandchildren, Brittany, Sarah, and Jessica; and several nieces and nephews.
Mr. New was preceded in death by his parents, Ermond Alvin New and Mary Harris New; two brothers, Richard Avery and Ermond J. New; and two sisters, Dorothy Bell Manley and Hazel Pearl Collins.
Mr. New was born in Lithonia, Ga., was a retired customer service employee with Caye, S.C., Farmers Market, and was a member of Turner Hill Baptist Church. He loved to fish and travel. He enjoyed playing cards with his friends.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, December 23, 2008, at 2 p.m. at the Bellevue Memorial Gardens Chapel with Dr. Pauline Hughes officiating. Interment followed in Bellevue Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers were Perry Bower, Howard McGinty, Dwayne Giles, Terry Manley, Richard Rawlins, and Lee Coker.
Thomas L. King Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
