THOMSON, Ga. - Mr. Randy Smith, 49, entered into rest December 31, 2008, at Heartland Hospice. He was preceded in death by his father, George Smith.
He was a member of the New Holt Baptist Church in Harlem, where the funeral service was held on Saturday, January 3, 2009, at 1 p.m. Rev. Melvin Adams officiated the service. Interment was in the South Harlem Memorial Cemetery.
He is survived by his mother and stepfather, Ruth (Willie) Lee; son, Randy Smith, Jr.; five brothers, George (Dorothy) McGahee, Harlem, Willie (Catherine) Smith, Augusta, Eugene Smith, Harlem, Calvin (Lona) Smith, Oklahoma, Milton (Lisa) Smith, Atlanta; two sisters, Ella Harris, Thomson, Dorothy (Moses) Dunn, Grovetown; and a host of aunts, cousins, nieces, and nephews.
He was blessed with a friendly, vibrant personality and never met a stranger. These attributes enhanced his profession at IGA for over 20 years.
