GROVETOWN, Ga. - Mrs. Frances J. May Gable entered into rest Monday, January 5, 2009, at Golden Living at Windermere, the widow of the late retired Senior Master Sgt. John B. Gable, Sr. Mrs. Gable was also preceded in death by a son, John B. Gable; four brothers, Cecil May, John May, Roland May, and Daniel May.
Family members are one son, Robert A. Gable, Anchorage, Alaska; three daughters, Rev. Barbara May Gable Wills, Northwood, Iowa, Saundra Renee McCorkle, Dearing, Laura Wilson, Augusta; one brother, William P. May, Warner Robins, Ga.; one sister, Ruby Mills, Gibson; nine grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Gable was born in Gibson, was a homemaker and a member of Bellevue Baptist Church. She was a member of the NCO Wives Club and the Brunswick Bowling League.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, January 7, 2009, at 2 p.m. at the Thomas L. King Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Sherrill Dunn officiating. Interment was in Bellevue Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers were Robert Gable, John Wills, Phil McCorkle, Larry Mays, Issac Gable, and Joseph Ruskey.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions be given to the Augusta Rescue Mission, 526 Walker St., Augusta, Ga. 30901 or the Salvation Army, 1384 Greene St., Augusta, Ga. 30901.
