THOMSON, Ga. - Miss Mary Lou Fanning, 97, of Thomson, died Saturday, January 10, 2009, in Pickens County, S.C.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Monday, January 12, in the Curtis Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Tom Kerr officiating. Burial was in Westview Cemetery.
Miss Fanning was a native of McDuffie County. She was a retired medical secretary. She was a member of the Thomson First United Methodist Church, where she was a charter member of the OSME Sunday School Class.
Survivors include two nieces, Anne (Jim) Haynes, Bushnell, Ill., Brenda (Eddie) Newman, Evans; four nephews, John (Peg) Eckley, Oquawka, Ill., James (Sybil) Fanning, Clemson, S.C., John (Jean) Fanning, Panama City, Fla., and William (Laura) Fanning, Augusta; and three special caregivers, Lizzie Huff, Rossie Lewis, and Bernestine Hill.
