THOMSON, Ga. - Mr. Stanley Guy Jr., 82, widower of Mrs. Eve Guy, died Saturday, January 10, 2009, at his residence.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Monday, January 12, 2009, in the Little Brier Creek Baptist Church with Rev. Bill Seaman officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery.
Mr. Guy was a native of Warren County, but had lived in Thomson for many years. He was retired from Civil Service and was a farmer. He was a Navy veteran.
He was preceded in death by his wife and a son, Roger Wayne Guy. He is survived by four daughters, Patricia (Richard) Holton, Lynda (David) Lucas, and Faye Guy, all of Thomson and Carol (Terry) Hayes, Millen; two sons, David O. (Charlotte) Guy, Thomson and David Stanley (Christy) Guy, Thomson; a sister, Lucy Harrod, Elizabethtown Ky.; 14 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great- grandchild.
Pallbearers were Joseph McGrotha, Michael McGrotha, Chris Lucas, Chris Hayes, Frank Tankersley, and James Tankersley.
