Elizabeth Ann Raley and Christopher Ryan Neal were united in marriage at 3 p.m., Saturday, November 8, 2008, at Oak Grove in Athens. Rev. Kenneth Garvin, pastor of the bride's home church, Sweetwater Baptist in Thomson, officiated.
Beth is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James R. Raley of Thomson. She is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Neal Rabun of Thomson and the late Mr. and Mrs. J.C. Raley of Jewell, Ga. She is a 2004 graduate of the University of Georgia with a bachelor's degree in family and consumer science. She is employed by Senturian as a marketing and p.r. agent.
Ryan is the son of Ms. Barbara Ann Huffman of Panama City, Fla., and Mr. and Mrs. Joey Neal of Alabaster, Ala. He is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Joe Neal of Gadsden, Ala., and the late Mr. and Mrs. Reuel Huffman of Birmingham, Ala. He is a 2002 graduate of Auburn University with a bachelor's degree in business. Ryan is the owner and operator of a Sara Lee franchise.
Beth was given in marriage by her father. She chose her sisters, Mrs. Renee Askew of Thomson and Mrs. Jennifer Huff of Dearing as her matrons of honor. Junior bridesmaids were Raley Askew and Abbi Huff, nieces of the bride. Maggie Huff, also a niece of the bride, was the flower girl.
Ryan chose his father, Joey Neal, to serve as best man. Alan Huffman, brother of the groom, was the groomsman. Connor Askew, nephew of the bride, was ring bearer.
The reader for the ceremony was Mrs. Marsha Sandridge of Jackson, Ga. Mrs. Pam Johnson of Evans, was director. Music was provided by Mrs. Carrie Scruggs, harpist, of Athens. Ms. Sadie Rabun of Thomson, cousin of the bride, was program attendant. Mrs. Sue Wilson of Thomson designed the floral arrangements for the wedding and reception.
Following the ceremony, a reception was held at East-West Bistro in Athens. The couple will reside in Homewood, Ala.
