WARRENTON, Ga. - Mr. Kenneth Carl Jones, 76, beloved husband, father, and grandfather, died Friday, January 30, 2009, in St. Josephs Hospital, Atlanta.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, February 3, 2009, in the Little Briar Creek Baptist Church with Dr. Randy Dunaway and Rev. Bill Seaman officiating. Burial was in Little Briar Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.
Mr. Jones was a life long resident of Warren County. He was the husband of Mrs. Frances Gilmer Jones for 58 years. He was retired from Georgia Pacific Co. He was an Army Veteran of the Korean War. He was a member of Little Briar Creek Baptist Church.
Mr. Jones was preceded in death by his mother and father, Mr. William Jones and Mrs. Willene Savage Brown.
Survivors include his wife, Frances Gilmer Jones, two daughters, Pam (Ricky) McGahee, Tucson, Az.., and Judy Shelton, Warrenton; grandchildren, Lisa (Steve) Waugh, Woodstock Ga., Brent (Jessica) Jackson, Warrenton, Clark McGahee, Lawrenceville, Ga., and Ben McGahee, Tucson Az.; seven brothers and sisters, Frances Cook, Sara Smith, Hoke Jones, Betty Madden, Mary Brown, James Tucker Jones, Sr., and Frank Jones; and five great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were J.R. Gilmer, Manor Gilmer, Jay Jones, David Gilmer, Allen Gilmer, and Lamar Massey.
Curtis Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
