THOMSON, Ga. - Mrs. Patricia Lokey, of Dearing, died Thursday, January 29, 2009, at McDuffie Regional Medical Center. She was the beloved wife of John Walter Lokey.
Mrs. Lokey was born in Griffin, Ga., and was the daughter of the late Willie A. Kilgore and the late Tincy Irma Banks Kilgore.
She retired after 16 years as Administrative Assistant to Chief Superior Court Judge Robert L. Stevens, of the Toombs Judicial Circuit. She also served as church pianist to several area churches, as well as providing private instruction to numerous area piano students. Mrs. Lokey was also a member of First Baptist Church in Thomson and a member of the Jubalheirs Praise and Proclamation Ministry.
Funeral services were held Sunday, February 1, 2009, at 3 p.m. from the First Baptist Church in Thomson, with Dr. James Ramsey officiating. Interment followed in Westview Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Steven Holbert, Chris Johnson, Joseph Johnson, Allen Connor, Jimmy Plunkett and Bob Gibson.
In addition to her husband, John Walter Lokey, Dearing, survivors are her daughters:
Christa Lynn Kendrick, Lawrenceville, Ga., and Susan Claire Kendrick Cash, Winder, Ga.; two grandchildren: Hailee and Hilton Cash; a sister, Louise Sisson, Charlotte, N.C.; and two nephews, Ivan Sisson and Chris Sisson.
Beggs Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
