Going into Tuesday night's soccer game against Richmond Academy in Augusta, the Thomson High Bulldogs were perfect on the season.
Thomson's Lady Bulldogs, meanwhile, who got off to a winning start with a win over Jefferson County at home earlier last week, settled for a 1-1 tie against the Cross Creek Lady Razorbacks in Augusta last Friday.
Thomson's latest win came against the Cross Creek Razorbacks in South Augusta last Friday night. The Bulldogs won that game in convincing fashion, 9-1. Earlier last week, they defeated the Jefferson County Warriors in the season-opener, which was played in The Brickyard in Thomson.
Against the Razorbacks, the Bulldogs, now 2-0, had no troubles, whatsoever.
Jay Bieltz led Thomson in the scoring department, tallying five goals. In his first two games of the season, the junior has now scored a total of eight goals.
He was supported by a cast of teammates who scored goals in that game, too. They included Herrington, 1, Justin Battross, 1, Wright, 1, and Pop Chambliss, 1.
Herrington led the Bulldogs in assists with 11, while Bieltz and Battross each had one assist.
Thomson senior goalie Michael Thompson recorded five saves in the game.
