THOMSON, Ga. - Mrs. Mary Frances Henderson Purvis, 68, Thomson, died Tuesday, February 17, 2009, at her residence. She was the beloved wife of the late Marvin Purvis.
Funeral services were held at 2 pm., Friday, February 20, 2009, at the Beggs Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Dewey Henderson officiating. Interment followed in the Reedy Creek Baptist Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Marty Purvis, Robert Purvis, Christopher Braddock, David Braddock, Harrison Braddock, Tim Peters and Jeff Peters and Mark Etheridge.
Mrs. Purvis was born in Jefferson County, and was the daughter of the late John Taylor Henderson and the late Estelle McNeely Henderson. She was a homemaker and a member of Louisville United Methodist Church.
Survivors include her sisters: Elizabeth Braddock, Thomson, Lillian Katherine Blanos, Augusta; brother: John Lewis Henderson, Bonaire, Ga.; children: Jerry Braddock, Patricia B. Doolittle and Cathy B. Peters; grandchildren: Leslie Gibson, Christopher Braddock, David Braddock, Harrison Braddock, Tim Peters and Jeff Peters; great-grandchildren: Kelsey Gibson and Amelia Oswald; nephews: Marty Purvis and James T. Purvis, Jr., and Mark Etheridge; and nieces: Mary Ann Etheridge, Renee Crunkleton and Jamie Weeks
Memorials may be made to the National Kidney Foundation.
