THOMSON, Ga. - Mrs. Elizabeth Blanchard Reese, 94, widow of Mr. E. W. Reese, Jr., died Wednesday, February 25, 2009, at her residence.
Graveside services were held at 11 a.m. Friday, February 27, 2009, at Westview Cemetery with Dr. Jim Ramsey officiating.
Mrs. Reese was a native of Columbia County, a retired public school teacher, a member of the Lydian Sunday School Class and a member of the First Baptist Church in Thomson.
She is survived by five children: Mary Alice (Garry) Davis of Richland, Wash., Beth (David) Milikin of Covington, Ga., Bill (Patricia) Reese, Thomson, Glenn (Ronda) Reese, of Jacksonville, Florida, Delia Grant, Thomson; nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Reese was preceded in death by her husband, E. W. Reese, Jr.; a son, E. W. Reese III; and her parents, John Eubank Blanchard and Agnes Harris Blanchard.
Pallbearers were John Davis, Earl Carr, Jr., John Branch, Ron Carter, Dr. Joe Harris and Joe McCommons.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Sanctuary Piano Fund of First Baptist Church, Thomson, at 253 Jackson Street, Thomson, Ga. 30824.
Curtis Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
