Mrs. Flora Haynes Twilley
Retired School Teacher

WARRENTON, Ga. - Mrs. Flora Haynes Twilley, 91, beloved wife of the late Mr. Clarence Ivey Twilley, Jr., died Sunday March 1, 2009, at McDuffie Regional Medical Center.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, March 3, 2009, at the First United Methodist Church of Warrenton with Dr. Henry Fields officiating. Burial followed in the Camak United Methodist Church Cemetery.

Mrs. Twilley, a native and lifelong resident of Warren County was the daughter of the late William R. and Annie Griffith Haynes. She was a graduate of Georgia State College for Women and a retired school teacher with the Warren County Board of Education. Mrs. Twilley was a member of the Warrenton Music Club, Warrenton Garden Club and a active member of the Warrenton First United Methodist Church were she sang in choir, taught the Mamie Evans Sunday School Class, and worked with the Methodist Youth Foundation.

Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Dr. Thomas Dale (Diane) Twilley of Toccoa, Ga.; a daughter in law, Brenda Samuels Twilley of Thomson; a sister in law, Dorothy Twilley Wilson of Warrenton; three grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Pallbearers were Daniel W. Alexander, Gary L. Alexander, Emile Carr, S. D. Pearson, Charles Gunn, and Stanley Dallas. Honorary pallbearers were members of the Mamie Evans Sunday School Class.

In lieu of flowers, the family request that memorials be made to the First United Methodist Church of Warrenton, 412 Main Street Warrenton, GA 30828.

Lowe Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
