PORTAL, Ga. - Mr. Claude Hardy, 74, husband of Hazel Hardy, entered into rest Wednesday, March 4, 2009, at the Ogeechee Area Hospice.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, March 7, 2009, in the Bellevue Memorial Gardens Chapel in Grovetown. Interment followed in Bellevue Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Hardy was born in Columbia County to the late W.C. Hardy and Lizzie Martin Hardy, and was a longtime resident of Portal, Ga. He was a loving husband and father and loved watching old western movies.
He is survived by his wife, Hazel Hardy; two sons, Franklin Hardy (Lutrelle), Claude W. Hardy (Debra), of Statesboro; one daughter, Glory Morris (Jerry), Statesboro; one brother, Bobby Lee Hardy, Grovetown; two sisters, Ava James, Warrenton, and Martha Hardy Driver, Newnan, Ga.; and 11 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Diane Hardy Howell.
Starling Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
