MITCHELL, Ga. - Mrs. Mary Patsy Reese, 57, widow of Mr. Bill Reese, died Thursday, March 5, 2009, in the McDuffie Regional Medical Center.
Funeral services were held at 2:30 p.m., Sunday, March 8, in the Curtis Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. James Ramsey officiating. Burial was in the Westview Cemetery.
Mrs. Reese was a native of Richmond County and had made her home in Thomson before moving to Gibson. She was a retired teacher. She was a member of Thomson First Baptist Church and also attended Gibson First Baptist Church.
Survivors include her four sisters, Rita (Miguel) Faure, Appling, Gloria (Brian) Machalk, Louisville, Kathy (David) Gunnels, Wrens, and Tonya (Robert) Gunby, Louisville; a step-daughter, Karen Reese, Florida; a step-son, Kendel (Cristie) Reese, Atlanta; her father, Bobby H. (Regina) McGahee, Thomson; her aunt, Juanita Wellmaker, Gibson; her uncle, Gene McGahee, Columbus; and several nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers were Brian Machalk. Cody Machalk, Ronnie Marchman, Kendel Reese, Vic Reese and Matthew Holley.
Curtis Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
