Mr. and Mrs. Benjamin Lamar, of Washington, are pleased to announce the engagement of their daughter, Lydia Brooke Lamar, to Bruce Albert Strother, son of Mr. and Mrs. Lester Strother of Thomson.
The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Gene Lamar and Mr. and Mrs. Guy Stephens and the late Mr. Clyde Edward Neville, all of Washington. Miss Lamar is a 2005 graduate of Briarwood Academy and will graduate from Georgia Southern University in May 2009 with a degree in secondary mathematics education.
Mr. Strother is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Albert Strother of Warrenton, and the late Mr. and Mrs. Harry Painter of Thomson. He is a 1994 graduate of Thomson High School and is the vice president of Al Strother Body Shop, Inc., in Thomson.
The wedding is planned for Saturday, June 6, 2009, at 6 p.m. at Union Baptist Church, Thomson.
