THOMSON, Ga. -- Mr. George Robert Langham, 71, beloved husband of Mrs. Nancy Langham, died Saturday, April 4, 2009, in the Ogeechee Area Hospice in Statesboro, Ga.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, April 7, 2009, in the Curtis Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Mike Sutphin officiating. Burial was in Savannah Valley Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Langham was a native of McDuffie County. He was a retired Brick Mason and was a member of the Bethel Baptist Church.
Mr. Langham was preceded in death by his son, John Langham, his parents, C.C. and Emmie Lou Langham, and his sister, Repurta Kitchens.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Nancy Langham, Thomson; his son, Ronnie (Michelle) Langham, Thomson; his daughter- in-law, Elaine Langham, Thomson; his sister, Mrs. Rebie (James) Newsome, Statesboro; two brothers, Mr. Carey (Dorothy) Langham Jr., Augusta, and Mr. Johnny Langham, Phoenix, Az.; his two grandsons, Russell Langham and Jonathan Langham, both of Thomson; and his two granddaughters, Sophia Langham and Gabrelle Langham, both of Thomson.
Pallbearers were Ronnie Langham, Cohen Kitchens, Russell Langham, Donnie Palmer, Jason Smith, and Jay Newsome.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Ogeechee Area Hospice, 200 Donehoo Street, Statesboro, Ga., 30458.
Curtis Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
