Mr. Stanton Hogan Morris, Jr.

THOMSON, Ga. -- Mr. Stanton Hogan Morris Jr., 70, widower of Mrs. Sandra Hughes Morris, died Tuesday, March 31, 2009, at his residence.

Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. Friday, April 3, 2009, in the Curtis Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Ronnie Shelton and Rev. John Prater officiating. Burial was in the Morris Family Cemetery.

Mr. Morris was a native of McDuffie County. He was a retired construction worker. He was a Navy veteran of the Vietnam War.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Mrs. Sandra Morris and his son, Stan Morris.

He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Tim and Judy Usry, Wrens; three grandchildren, Blake Usry and Jesse Usry, both of Thomson, and Nicole Usry, Norfolk, Va.; and his two sister-in-laws, Jewell Phillips, Thomson, and Bobbie Scott, Hephzibah.

Pallbearers were Blake Usry, Jesse Usry, C.J. Brown, Ricky Phillips, Kevin Taylor, Tim Smith, and Sam Christian.

Curtis Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
