Mrs. Evelyn Hunt Mogish

THOMSON, Ga. - Mrs. Evelyn Hunt Mogish, 88, widow of Mr. Michael Mogish, died Tuesday, April 7, 2009, at her residence.

Funeral services were held at 11 a.m., Saturday, April 11, 2009, in the Thomson First Baptist Church with Dr. James Ramsey and Dr. James C. Elder, Jr., officiating. Burial was in Westview Cemetery.

Mrs. Mogish was a native of McDuffie County. She was the retired owner of Michael's Restaurant. She was a member of Thomson First Baptist Church, where she was a member of the Ruth Sunday School Class and had taught the third grade Sunday School Class for many years.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Mr. Michael Mogish, her parents, John Henry and Mae Belle Hunt, and two brothers, Mr. Fay Harris Hunt and Mr. Robert H. Hunt.

She is survived by her two daughters, Mrs. Ann (Kelley) Ware, and Ms. Katherine Mogish, both of Thomson; her two grandchildren, Jonathan (Kelly) Ware, Thomson, and Elizabeth (Shannon) Carpenter, Alpharetta; her three great-grandchildren, Camille Carpenter, Andrew Johnson, and Abbie Johnson; a sister-in-law, Ms. Mary Mogish, Thomson; a brother-in-law, Mr. Andrew Mogish, Syracuse, N.Y. and several nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers were Robert L. Davis, Ned Harbeson, Lawton Harbeson, Ben Harbeson, Michael Mogish and Andy Mogish.

The family requests that donations be made to the Thomson First Baptist Church Piano Fund.

Curtis Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
