Resident questions rise in hotel prices

Dear Editor,

At a time when we are trying to show our Masters visitors our southern hospitality, it is a shame and disgrace that our local hotels/motels increase their prices sky high.

I had friends who stayed with us, and I am so glad. I called a local hotel to get their nightly rates during Masters week and for one of their cheaper rooms I was quoted $299 plus tax per night. I believe our local better business bureau, chamber of commerce and our city and county officials should write a letter of disappointment to each of the motels in our county that have chosen to do this to show our dislike for their actions.

This does not show our great town in its true colors, and it should not be done, especially when our country is in its current economic situation. Thank you for allowing me to express my displeasure.
