Smith to wed Brooks in June ceremony in Thomson

Mr. and Mrs. James Walker Smith, Jr., of Thomson are pleased to announce the engagement of their daughter, Brittany Walker Smith, to Michael Lloyd Brooks, Jr., son of Mr. and Mrs. Michael Lloyd Brooks, Sr., of Thomson.

The wedding is planned for June 27, 2009, at 7 p.m. at the Queen of Angels Catholic Church in Thomson.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Mrs. Marcella Pilgrim and the late Mr. Clarence Pilgrim of Thomson and Mr. James Walker Smith, Sr., and Mrs. Fay Smith of Thomson. She is a 2004 graduate of Thomson High School, 2006 graduate of Georgia Military College with an associate in science pre-nursing, and is currently enrolled in the nursing program at Augusta Technical College. The bride-elect is employed at Doctors Hospital as a Labor & Delivery Unit secretary.

The groom-elect is the son of Mrs. Betty Williams and the late Mr. Edward Williams of Thomson and Mr. Lloyd Brooks and Mrs. Vivian Brooks of Thomson. He is a 2003 graduate of Thomson High School and a 2007 graduate of the University of Georgia with a bachelor's degree in chemistry. The groom-elect is employed by Enzymatic Deinking Technologies as a chemist.
