Mrs. Mildred Irby Phillips
Machine Operator

GIBSON, Ga. - Mrs. Mildred Irby Phillips, 79, loving wife of the late Ray Phillips, entered into rest Monday, April 20, 2009, at the Gibson Health & Rehabilitation Center.

Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Magnolia Baptist Church with Rev. Alex Williams and Tommy Harwell officiating. Interment was in the church cemetery.

Mrs. Phillips was a member of Magnolia Baptist Church for many years.

She is survived by one daughter, Gwyn (Dean) Couch of Gibson; one son, Mark (Donna) Phillips of Gibson; two sisters, Mrs. Jenine Walden of Avera and Mrs. Ethel Davis of Thomson; five grandchildren, Ricky Ray Phillips, Wendy Hobbs, Eric Couch, Alicia Usry, and Brandon Phillips; two great-grandchildren, Kelley Grace Hobbs and Shelby Rae Phillips; and a daughter-in- law, Lee U. Phillips.

She was preceded in death by a son, Ricky Phillips; a brother, Calvin Evens Irby; three sisters, Ida Mae Usry, Marlene Chalker, and Glendy North.

Pallbearers were Warren Heart, Richard Walden, Keith Walden, Greg Walden, Alen Gilmer, and Warren Pittman.

Sheppard Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
