It has been more than a week since we held the Hunter Derby at Foxboro for in memory of my father and for the Ferst Foundation. I thought I'd offer more pieces of good news from the great event.
First, Perry Hicks' horse, Tramore, is home from the University of Georgia Vet School and is doing well. The vets expect her to make a complete recovery.
The other good news is that it appears that the event generated right at $700 for the Ferst Foundation. That doesn't include the $150 the group took in while operating the concession stand during the event.
Combined with the revenue from the actual show, we raised a total to $850 for Ferst Foundation. It costs about $35 per child per year for the kids to receive their age appropriate book each month. So, this event raised enough money for 24 kids to receive their dozen books this year.
Thanks to all who participated in this event and helped support a wonderful cause.
