Parents who dread sitting through church with their children because they wiggle too much can now relax. New Hope Baptist Church is presenting Kidz Blitz Live this Wednesday, May 20.
"It's going to be a pretty neat little deal," Pastor Allen Holbrook said. "It's an hour and a half of high-energy games, interactive with the kids and their parents. So, we're inviting both of them."
Rev. Holbrook said the service begins at 6:30 p.m. in the church's worship center. According to the website, Kidz Blitz Live is a show that travels coast to coast, providing "fast-paced action and Super Bowl excitement that targets the elementary-age kid while engaging people of all ages."
Children ages three to 12 and their parents can enjoy a balloon stuff, marshmallow attack, gator snot, tower of power, flying donut chew, extreme hula and more, with a Bible message woven into the action. Admission is free.
Although the program is a one-time event at New Hope, Rev. Holbrook said each week, the church's children's ministry has Big City Studio on Wednesday evenings.
"It's a pretty high energy thing with the kids," he said. "The whole thing is based on telling the Bible story through a mock studio filming. ... It's pretty kickin', too. They do not slow down except when they have to read their Bible. That's about the calmest time through the whole night."
